Earning a college degree is really attractive and necessary especially if its related to the job you’re applying for. For example, if you’re applying as an accountant or a nurse, of course you needed to finish a college degree for you to be hired. But there are some online jobs that merit skills and experience more than a college degree. For example, if you to be social media manager or a video editor, I think it’s not really necessary if you finish a college degree as long as you can assure your employer that you can do the job through your skills and experience.
Requiring a college degree will depend on the job or employer requirements. A college degree does not carry the same weight as it once did. A college degree is not necessary to create livelihood online. In today’s global work force, there is more interest in hard skills or experience vs traditional education.
For example, a video or graphics designer – in many cases the person with the most impressive work history or portfolio is likely to be the one employed. Regardless of degree or if they are self taught.
