    Hard skills are the skills that get you the interview or land you the job.

    Soft skills are the skills the will keep you employed or called again for follow up projects.

    For example, if you are a web developer.  Coding skills, graphic design, and related knowledge/skills of related tools would be hard skills.

    Being professional, easy to work with, good communication, are a few examples of soft skills.  In general being a good person that people want to work is the result.

    In an environment where communication is both  the foundation and the primary challenge, soft skills are incredibly important when working from home.
