It’s okay to be sad, embarrassed, and disappointed after being rejected. We’re humans and our emotions are valid, but don’t stay sad, embarrassed, and disappointed forever! Here are two tips:

    1. Separate your performance or a single failure to your self-worth. The reason why we’re too hard on ourselves after being rejected is we attach failure with our self-worth. Our talent, skills, family, friends, opinions, personality, dignity, and how we treat other people are some examples we can associate our self-worth with. You are more than just a single rejection.
    2. Rejections are blessing in disguise. I always believe that if something is not for you, then it’s not for you. If you didn’t get a the job because you lack skills and experience, then learn and gain experience through internship or probono projects. If you didn’t get the job because you’re goals and vision doesn’t align with the company’s then it’s fine, there’s a perfect place for you somewhere where you truly belong.

I think about having to work in an office, dealing with the commute, having a less flexible schedule. 🙂
