    If an online job offer seems like too good to be true or if they ask you money for whatever purpose, then I guess that is something suspicious. Don’t jump into it right away. Ask around and do your research.

    Avoid employment that asks for money in order to get started.

    Checking the remote hiring history, social media, and general online presence of the employer will help you with your decision.  The employer may have a positive, negative, or no prior history for working with remote employees.  No prior history for working with remote employees does not suggest the opportunity is a scam, but it will help you with any due diligence.
